Clinique Pasteur - 100,000 low-carbon meals
As part of the "gourmet" 2017 European Sustainable Development Week, Clinique Pasteur (31) will be offering its employees and patients a tasty, low-carbon meal on June 3. This initiative, spurred on by COP 21 in 2015 by the clinic along with other private establishments in Toulouse, has federated other local players over the years. Also this year, 100,000 low-carbon meals will be prepared by the collective restaurants of Greater Toulouse, a large-scale operation supported by Ademe.
More than carpooling
For the past five years, a dozen patients from the hemodialysis center at the Hôpital privé Nord Parisien have been sharing an ambulance. The reasons for adopting simultaneous transport of several patients are numerous: to reduce the number of transports and hence the cost to the health insurance system, to limit the production of greenhouse gases, and to create links between patients.
100,000 low-carbon menus
In 2015, during a day of commitment to COP 21, the 1,200 low-carbon meals prepared by Clinique Pasteur for patients and staff literally had a beefy (or rather anti-befy, given that this meat is the most polluting source of protein) effect.
Energy performance now
With a move to new buildings scheduled for the end of 2018, Clinique du Tonkin's sustainable development committee, more active than ever, has been looking for a project to limit energy consumption with a rapid return on investment.
Clinique Juge opts for wood and natural light
For its project to extend its outpatient department, the Clinique Juge in Marseille opted for a construction made of solid wood panels pre-cut and assembled on site. To optimize the quality of life in the building, four natural light wells were installed.
A multi-rewarded eco-gymnasium
The sustainable development approach adopted by this MCO healthcare facility is comprehensive, but it is thanks to its HQE and BBC (Bâtiment basse consommation - low-energy building) certified eco-gymnasium that the St Roch clinic in Cambrai has made a name for itself in the press. After a "health" trophy awarded by the FHP, and a "business" trophy presented in person by Ségolène Royal, Minister of Ecology, it was the "Martin et Martine d'or" that Dr Joël Cliche, Director, received from the Mayor of Cambrai on January 22.
SD Week 2016: Clinique du Pré's good ideas
For Clinique du Pré in Le Mans, Sustainable Development Week is a key component of its CSR approach. On the program: eco-mobility in all its forms, with a looped slide show on eco-driving and an information stand on electric vehicles; the opportunity for teams to get behind the wheel of the clinic's two electric vehicles, and a demonstration of electrically-assisted bicycle models on a test track set up outside in the parking lot; a presentation of the clinic's 22 sorting facilities and the fate of waste; and a special employee game on sorting DASRI.
Working together to improve the energy efficiency of buildings!
C2DS is committed to the Plan Bâtiment Durable initiative, and invites its members to sign the charter for energy efficiency in public and private tertiary buildings launched under the aegis of the French Ministry for the Environment, Energy and the Sea. The charter is designed to encourage "a global movement to improve energy efficiency, the well-being of building users and the economic activity of the building and real estate sector".
40,000 m2 of rubber flooring!
On its Hautepierre site, Strasbourg's Regional University Hospital (67) is bringing together and building the Plateau médico-technique et locomoteur (PMTL) and the Institut régional du cancer (IRC). This vast 70,000 m2 project will be completed in early 2018. Jacques Roos, director of infrastructure and works at CHRU, tells us more.
Fighting noise: the importance of choosing the right floor covering
Noise levels in healthcare environments can be very high, and this can lead to stress. Acoustic comfort has become a key criterion in floor covering selection. To attenuate noise, it must be resilient, i.e. flexible and elastic. In Europe, there are three main types of resilient flooring: PVC, linoleum and rubber.
An eco-responsible carpooling platform
The Rose association, known for its publications Rose et Blu, magazines created for patients with breast and male cancers, is launching a car-sharing platform for patients and their loved ones. RoseCar invites patients and users living nearby and visiting the same facility to arrange a meeting and take a short trip together.
A question of energy at the Clinique Clémentville in Montpellier
Since 2009, Clinique Clementville in Montpellier has been reducing its energy footprint. It is a signatory to the C2DS Two For Ten® campaign and will renew its EMAS registration in 2017. Cécile Kauz, Executive Assistant and Sustainable Development Manager, explains the steps taken.
Supervaltech revalidates its EMAS registration
For the second time, the Supervaltech SSR clinic (66) has validated its EMAS registration, a voluntary approach to continuous improvement of its environmental performance.
All copper
The Clinique Arago (75) is one of the first healthcare facilities in the world to be fully equipped with antibacterial copper.
Consumption on the screen
A quick visit to the Facebook site of the Paul-Coste Floret Hospital (34) is well worth the detour. Reflecting the hospital's commitment to subjects as diverse as art, well-being at work, the right to health and other civic and ecological commitments, the site features a highly pragmatic energy project.
Green growth: a zero-interest loan!
As we all know, climate change is caused in particular by greenhouse gas emissions resulting from increased consumption of fossil fuels. But it's up to healthcare professionals to pursue this line of reasoning, because while climate change has an impact on the environment, it also has numerous repercussions on human health and the cost of our healthcare system. Indeed, reducing direct and indirect fossil fuel consumption also means reducing asthma, allergies, vector-borne diseases, cardiovascular diseases and cancers in the long term, as well as optimizing healthcare expenditure.
