Decarbonize the hospital!
At the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, COP 21, governments agreed on the urgent need to mobilize stronger and more ambitious climate action to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. The 29th COP will be held from November 11, 2024.
Action must come from governments, cities, regions, companies... The players in the healthcare system also have a role to play. Yet 58% of healthcare establishments responding to Anap's MODD survey have never assessed their greenhouse gas emissions, and only 36% have done so despite a long-standing obligation to do so.
The C2DS provides 13 peer-reviewed roadmaps for 2021, designed to kick-start the decarbonization of hospitals. The carbon footprint is one of the 4 cardinal points of the C2DS, investigated transversally in the monthly business clubs, and more specifically in the Building Club. The C2DS is helping to decarbonize the healthcare system, and in so doing, is helping establishments to make substantial financial savings.
