For Clinique du Pré in Le Mans, Sustainable Development Week is a key component of its CSR approach. On the program: eco-mobility in all its forms, with a looped slide show on eco-driving and an information stand on electric vehicles; the opportunity for teams to get behind the wheel of the clinic's two electric vehicles, and a demonstration of electrically-assisted bicycle models on a test track set up outside in the parking lot; a presentation of the clinic's 22 sorting facilities and the fate of waste; and a special employee game on sorting DASRI.
Working together to improve the energy efficiency of buildings!
C2DS is committed to the Plan Bâtiment Durable initiative, and invites its members to sign the charter for energy efficiency in public and private tertiary buildings launched under the aegis of the French Ministry for the Environment, Energy and the Sea. The charter is designed to encourage "a global movement to improve energy efficiency, the well-being of building users and the economic activity of the building and real estate sector".
Workplace well-being: full steam ahead!
Five years ago, Clinique de l'Anjou brought its occupational health department in-house and made quality of working life a priority. Driven by a steering committee comprising the CEO, the occupational physician and psychologist, and the directors of care, quality and human resources, the approach initially targeted management teams, who were all audited and trained on the theme of "health in the workplace: when management is not the problem, but the solution".
The biowaste power duo
The Parc Rambot polyclinic (13) didn't wait until January 1, 2016 to comply with legislation on biowaste. With its catering service provider, a plan of attack was drawn up as early as 2014, with the implementation of a sorting channel and the purchase of a dehydrator that reduces the volume of bio-waste by 70 to 80%.
A Sustainable Clinic
Toulouse's Clinique Pasteur was awarded the "Clinique Durable" prize at the 2016 FHP Trophées for its CSR corporate project "Une clinique citoyenne responsable". This prize crowns the maturity of the projects undertaken for years by the establishment's management and teams, pioneering work in the environmental, societal, social and economic fields.
Investir pour économiser
Acteur de la première heure sur les questions environnementales, et fort de deux bilans carbone en 2008 et 2014, la Clinique Saint Roch (59) mesure aujourd’hui les résultats de ses investissements : la consommation de gaz est passée de 230 à 160 kwh/m2 par an entre 2013 et 2015, et la consommation énergétique de 107,06 kwh/m2/an est restée stable alors qu’un nouveau service de 2 500 m2 était ouvert et que l’activité était en hausse !

Réduction à la source de déchets à l’Hôpital privé Saint Claude
C’est par un cadeau que la suppression des gobelets en plastique a démarré : celui de tasses lavables offertes par le CE à l’ensemble des salariés. Le Comité de développement durable créé en 2015 et la direction décidaient d’éliminer tous les gobelets en plastique jetables utilisés par les patients et les personnels. Une anecdote ? Non, une démarche structurée de réduction à la source des déchets et qui a commencé par celui du papier.
L’enregistrement EMAS revalidé pour 3 ans à la Clinique Cambrai
L’enregistrement EMAS renouvelé fin 2016 à la Clinique Cambrai est la reconnaissance du travail accompli sans relâche depuis huit ans et de la ténacité des équipes. « Au fil de l’eau, année après année, bilan carbone aprés bilan carbone, nous avons mis en place des indicateurs qui nous ont permis de définir des objectifs et axes d’amélioration. Nous avons des objectifs à moyen et long termes. Nous souhaitons améliorer nos performances d’une année sur l’autre, en revanche, pour ce qui est de la réduction de notre empreinte carbone, qui est une priorité pour nous, c‘est forcément un travail à long terme » déclare Fabien Leloir, gestionnaire des risques et qualiticien, en charge des questions de développement durable.
Les biodéchets, un bien précieux
La Clinique de l’Estrée (93), fortement ancrée sur son territoire, a choisi pour la gestion de ses biodéchets de « transformer les contraintes en énergie positive» en s’alliant à l’entreprise Moulinot, entreprise locale agréée solidaire et d’utilité sociale. Elle collecte depuis 2013 les biodéchets de restaurants, collectivités et établissements de soins de la région parisienne, pour les transformer en biogaz et compost.
Le covoiturage : un geste citoyen qui fait faire des économies
Depuis 10 ans, Brigitte et Vincent covoiturent pour se rendre aux nombreuses réunions régionales de l’ARS et des différentes instances et réseaux régionaux, etc. auxquelles de fait, représentant les deux grandes fédérations hospitalières, ils sont invités.

Pas de bio dans les cantines pour vice de forme
La Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes recommande de ne pas servir de betterave crue en restauration collective pour risques d’intoxication. Le Conseil constitutionnel a quant à lui jugé non conforme, non pas sur le fond mais sur la forme, l’obligation de proposer dans les cantines 20 % de produits bio et 40 % de produits locaux d’ici 2020, dans le cadre du projet de loi relative à l’égalité et la citoyenneté adopté le 22 décembre 2016.
EMAS, Clinique Saint-Roch de Cambrai and CH de Valenciennes in the running
Attesting to its long-term commitment, Clinique Saint-Roch (59) has just renewed its EMAS registration for three years, and CH de Valenciennes has held the invaluable European registration since early 2017. The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a voluntary program for the continuous improvement of environmental performance. Currently in France, only around ten healthcare and elderly care establishments are EMAS-registered.
A committed pharmacist
Gérard Saurel is a committed pharmacist, and the Saint-Pierre pharmacy in Perpignan was one of the first pharmacies to join the C2DS. An invitation from Pierre Fabre Laboratories to take part in an information day on nature and the environment was enough to make him a sustainable development activist... in his pharmacy. As a health care professional, he's an agent of change in his own store!
QWL at Thuir Hospital
Quality of life at work (QWL) cannot be decreed; it requires changes in practices and a change in mentality. As early as 2012, Thuir hospital developed a QWL approach with selected areas of focus: prevention of psycho-social risks, maintaining employment for people with disabilities, and professional equality between men and women.
Fighting noise: noise-free transport
Truck transport in the vicinity of our facilities, and the comings and goings of carts in departmental corridors, cause a great deal of noise pollution, not only for patients, who are often already in a fragile state, but also for our staff. Since its construction, the CH d'Alès Cévennes (CHAC) has been designed to accommodate a tortoise, an intelligent, programmable handling system using guided vehicles, which minimizes the constraints and nuisances associated with logistics and handling, including noise.

"Reducing the quantities served to reduce waste works well: it's a good idea to offer one, two or three spoons at self-service", explains Olivier Holweck, sustainable development consultant at Primum non nocere®, a C2DS subsidiary.
