Winning CSR tools

To help employees understand what CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is and how it can be put into practice on a day-to-day basis, the Oc Santé Group's CSR advisor, working closely with the communications department, uses two tools: a quarterly newsletter and escape game sessions.

Delphine Morand has invested in an electric bicycle and a pair of sneakers. An essential piece of equipment for the CSR referent, who is constantly visiting the Group's various sites (22 in Occitanie and 2 in Paris, 3,300 employees) to meet those who are putting the CSR policy into practice. For almost two years now, these initiatives have been reported in a newsletter called "Vert demain" (Green Tomorrow). " I write down everything in a notebook, and back at head office, I write the articles, which are supervised by the head of communications, Théo Ruiz, and laid out by a communications trainee. The themes are cross-functional: sustainable development week, sustainable mobility...". The last issue, published in December, was devoted to preventive health care, highlighting initiatives in this area: mental health initiatives in a Béziers facility, an association forum at a clinic in the Gard region, Blue Week at Ehpad in Montady and Lattes, and undernutrition week at a clinic in Castelnau-Le-Lez ...".

Once finalized, the gazette is sent to professionals' digital safes (Digiposte) and distributed on intranets. " The idea is to give a voice to the establishments, to showcase the actions they are implementing and the teams working on them. It also serves to inspire other establishments, creating links between them through the gazette. And it reinforces the sense of belonging to the group, so that those involved don't feel that they're alone in their CSR efforts.

The fastest wins

The consultant has also developed an escape game to raise awareness of the Group's CSR strategy in a fun way. " It's a welcome change from the same old powerpoint. After a brief introduction explaining what CSR is and how, in concrete terms, it can be transformed into action, participants - usually 3 teams of 3 or 4 people - are given A4 sheets with rebuses to identify the Group's 5 CSR pillars: economic, governance, societal, environmental and social. The fastest team wins. " In my presentation, which lasts just a few minutes, I give clues so I can see who's been listening and who hasn't," jokes Delphine Morand. The mayonnaise always takes. " Often, participants arrive with their feet on the ground, but when the game stops after 30 minutes or so, they all say: "What was that about?"... and leave having understood how CSR fits into sustainable development, which they understand better, and the very broad fields covered by this acronym. Sessions are organized on request.

In February, a major session is planned for head office support functions. " Around 100 participants are expected, and the three fastest teams will win eco-responsible goodies. The group also comes out a winner. Employees are more motivated because they are encouraged to develop meaningful initiatives, and an enhanced employer brand attracts new talent.
