Summary
Every six years, the French government reviews its waste reduction program. The decree of March 2, 2023 confirms the new objectives in legal terms. The 2021-2027 National Waste Prevention Plan thus updates the waste prevention measures resulting from the reforms undertaken in terms of the circular economy since 2017. The measures in place or to come relating to plastic packaging and food waste recalled in this summary document also concern health and medico-social establishments:
- plastic bottles containing beverages (point 3.1.3 in particular),
- food containers for cooking, reheating or serving (point 3.1.3 in particular),
- takeaway packaging (4.1.1 in particular),
- dishes and containers for home delivery services (point 3.1.3 in particular),
- single-use plastic utensils (point 4.1.4),
- the provision of water fountains (point 4.1.5 in particular),
- combating food waste (point 4.3.1),
- donating surplus food (point 4.3.2).
