Summary

The criteria for eligibility of a car for the ecological bonus are changing. The assessment is no longer limited solely to the vehicle's greenhouse gas emissions on the road, but Ademe will now award a multi-criteria environmental score to new electric passenger cars. To do this, it will have two months in which to examine the vehicle applications submitted by manufacturers. An initial list of cars eligible for the ecological bonus, under the new conditions, should therefore see the light of day in mid-December 2023. In the meantime, the previous eligibility criteria remain in force for new cars "ordered or for which the leasing contract was signed before December 15, 2023 inclusive, provided that they are invoiced or the first rental payment is made no later than March 15, 2024" (decree of September 20, 2023).
